WHAT IS BLIMP ACADEMY?

Founded in 2019, Blimp Academy is a company that functions as both a learning community and a professional workspace where kids (also known as "Blimpies") learn about relevant and practical skills such as leadership, programming, marketing, writing, budgeting, in a structured fashion then apply those skills in paid company projects. Blimpies receive opportunities to learn and gain real-life work experience in a safe and fun space, acting as both employees and students.

My favorite part about Blimp is the capstone project, where members get to think about a project idea that will impact their community, plan, execute, and evaluate it. It equips participants with soft skills, such as problem-solving, project planning, and communication skill.

Joining Blimp Academy, I was super excited about being able to have something I could call 'a job'. I still am! I'd recommend Blimp Academy to some of my peers because it certainly provides Blimpies with work experience, helps expand your portfolio, pays you for your work, and teaches plenty of useful new skills. I've experienced much fun in the time I've spent at Blimp Academy.

What I enjoy about Blimp Academy is how professional the workspace is. You're challenged to do things grown-ups do on a daily basis in real companies, as well as be proficient in skills such as budgeting, marketing, leadership, etc., making you feel like a working individual. The curriculum is practical yet imbued in good values for their character. The community of Sponsors, Coaches and Blimpies are tons of fun. Clearly Blimp Academy is a Covid-proof and future-proof model of education, character and skill building.
